"ATUTTOSESTO" is the exhibition of works by Sandro Martini which Sergio Pajola and Mac - Francesco Bartoli will open at the Casa del Mantegna on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 18.00hrs in Mantua, via Acerbi 47 open until Sunday, November 15, 2015.
The event / exhibition is intended to allow the widest possible knowledge of the meaning of Sandro Martini’s works through a concise but significant anthology (1960/2010) plus some recently completed new works. This path allows for a deeper reflection regarding the significance of the artist’s relationship with different "painting"materials from the two-dimensional to three-dimensional in all their possible extensions.
It provides a display of works on canvas, collages on lined paper, cages (painted installations contained in plexiglass boxes), glass collages, frescoes and the most significant examples of engravings and artistic books. An installation of coloured flags in the central area of the Mantegna House will also be realised.
In the three days prior to the installation’s assembly Sandro Martini will hold a workshop, in a room of the building, destined for 5/6 students from the Free University of Arts, Bologna, with the intention of studying the project’s installation. Students will also be involved in its construction.
During the exhibition, the artist will give a lesson, open to all, on frescoes and their significance in contemporary art.
At the end of the lesson Sandro Martini will create a fresco panel which will become an integral part of the exhibition.
The next day, Prof. Ignatius Gadaleta’s students from the Department of Painting and Chromatology at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, will produce a piece, using this technique, which will also take its place within the Mantegna House exhibition area.
The artist dedicates the course to Lucienne Bloch and Stephen Pope Dimitroff who were his that has been working together for several years at the Kala Institute, California. Lucienne and Stephen were Diego Rivera’s preferred assistants.
The artist will be present at the opening on September 26, 2015 at 18
